Earlier this year Waterside Musical Society performed their Soundtrack concerts of movie music to audiences around the Waterside. Raffle tickets were sold at the four venues in aid of the Honeypot Charity.
Last week, in a break from rehearsing their new show Act Your Age, Society Treasurer, Jennifer Edwards and Business Manager, Robin Watton made a visit to Honeypot House near Exbury to present a cheque for £200 to fundraising manager Sarah Quinn.
Honeypot is dedicated to improving the lives of severely disadvantaged young children living in Britain. They offer a week's respite break at the beautiful Honeypot House, followed by repeat visits and a long-term programme of support. The difference made to these children's lives is enormous.
Jennifer Edwards said: “We are so pleased to be able to help Honeypot to give these children a chance of a happy time away from the pressure of their normal lives”.
Honeypot’s Sarah Quinn commented that the £200 donation will buy Christmas presents for 40 children or enable 8 children to benefit from being a member of the Honeypot Club. |
