With four successful concerts already under their belts this year, Waterside Musical Society is gearing up for their next big production – Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel.
From the magical “Carousel Waltz” in the overture to the majestic and moving strains of the immortal "You'll Never Walk Alone", this favourite of the musical stage timeless and star bright.
The poignant story of the faithful Julie Jordan and the brutish carnival barker Billy Bigelow is one of the most powerful books of the musical theatre and perfectly matches its extraordinary score.
Other famous songs include "Mister Snow", "If I Loved You", "June Is Bustin' Out All Over", "When The Children Are Asleep" and many more.
The Society received 5 Curtain Call Award nominations for their 2009 production of The Secret Garden and Carousel promises to be a another “must see” event at the upgraded Waterside Theatre.
Music rehearsals start on 21st May with auditions on Sunday 20th June and new members are welcome.
