St Anne’s Luncheon Club at Butts Ash Community Association in Hythe, Southampton has recently purchased an industrial sized dishwasher following a donation of £2,000 from Esso and ExxonMobil at Fawley Refinery.

The club began in October 1999 when Mrs Shirley Stevens, a volunteer, received £2,000 from the Millennium Funds to start a Luncheon Club for the elderly.

There were originally eight members, now as many as 30 attend. Mrs Stevens said, “The industrial dishwasher is great, it only takes three minutes at a time. We soon get through all the dishes. We would like to thank ExxonMobil at Fawley for their kind donation to St Anne’s Luncheon Club”.

For more information about the club or to make a donation contact Shirley Stevens on 02380 842036. ends
