| Missing Man: John Martin |
|
The daughter of missing Hythe man, John Martin is today issuing a special appeal to her father to make contact with the family. It has been two weeks since Mr Martin was last seen at his home in Elgin Close.
Lisa Martin is due to get married in August and is concerned that her father is missing out on sharing the wedding plans with the family.
Lisa said: “This is a family occasion and my dad has a significant role to play in the day. We don’t want him to miss out. It will be a special moment for him, as much as everyone else, to walk me down the aisle and give me away on my wedding day.”
50-year-old John Martin, also known to friends as ‘Noddy’, was last seen by his wife at their home around midday on Friday February 15.
They had had a minor disagreement a short time before he disappeared and he is thought to have been feeling under pressure recently.
He is described as: 5ft 8 inches tall with short dark hair and a round face. He is slightly overweight.
He was wearing brown cords, desert boots which are beige or tan in colour and a dark hooded ‘Animal’ top.
The investigation into Mr Martin’s disappearance continues. Following extensive media coverage and witness appeal posters being displayed locally police have received a small number of calls from members of the public offering information.
This information is being followed up but anyone else who has not yet contacted police is urged to get in touch.
Appeals for information have also been extended to include areas John Martin has been connected with at different points in his life, the Kent area in particular.
Mr Martin left home with a very small amount of money, police believe he may be sleeping rough and are therefore particularly appealing to homeless shelter, churches, and dog walkers and hikers in the New Forest who may have seen him.
Anyone with any information relating to John Martin’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Duty Sergeant at Hythe police station on 0845 045 45 45, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
