Concerns are growing for 15-year-old Rosemary Edwards who went missing from her family home in Dibden Purlieu sometime after 10.30pm on Tuesday, September 4.

Rosemary had never left home before but has been described as being in a distressed state after a family discussion ended in disagreement.

Police have conducted a number of enquiries throughout the area and with other police forces in their bid to obtain any information about Rosemary’s whereabouts.

Specialist POLSA search teams are being drafted in today, Friday, September 7, to conduct fingertip searches in and around Rosemary’s home in Wellington Close.

They will be supported by the force Air Support Unit, Dog Units and other agencies, including the Marine and Coastguard Agency.
Neighbours and residents living within a half-mile radius of Rosemary’s home are also being asked to support the police, by checking sheds, garages and gardens.

In addition, officers are keen to speak to dog walkers, walkers, joggers or horse riders who have used routes through the New Forest, in particular Beaulieu Heath and Dibden Inclosure, since Tuesday night may have information which could assist with the enquiry.
Drivers in the area of the Heath Roundabout at Dibden Purlieu after 10.30pm on Tuesday night area also asked to contact police.

Supt Barry Talbot, Deputy Commander of the West Hampshire Operational Command Unit said: “We hope Someone somewhere will have information or knowledge about Rosemary and where she is.  We urge them to contact us without delay and tell us what they know.  All information will be treated sensitively.”
Rosemary appears to look older than she actually is and is described as:
  • White
  • 5ft 9ins tall
  • Slim build
  • She is thought to have been wearing blue jeans, a horizontally striped pattern top with turquoise and light blue stripes, blue ankle shoes with white flower pattern.
  • Her hair is dark blonde and stops about four inches above her waist and is either worn loose or in a loose braid.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Operation Emshot team at Lyndhurst police station on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
