Motorists across the New Forest will need to allow more time for their journeys throughout the lunch time period on Monday, September 10th.
The first leg of this year's Tour of Britain Cycle Race starts in Reading and winds it's way down eventually passing through the New Forest and finishing in Southampton at approximately 2:00 p.m..
People living and working in the areas listed below will need to allow more time for their journeys, though looking at the map there are only a few major roads affected until the riders start going into Southampton.
The areas affected are as follows:
Bramshaw
Fritham
Brockenhurst
Furzey Lodge
Beaulieu
Dibden Purlieu
Marchwood
Totton
Milbrook
Southampton
This year's event runs from the 9th - 15th September with nearly 100 riders taking part.
The event covers approximately 950 km starting with the prologue at Crystal Palace, London and ending with stage 6 from Dumfries to Glasgow, the race will cover some of the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom. |
