Detectives at Portsmouth have issued the description of
a yachtsman found dead in the English Channel on Tuesday
morning, August 22.
The body is described as that of a white
man in his early to late 30s. He is clean-shaven with
short brown hair.
He

Henri Lloyd waders, navy blue Helly Hansen fleece, a beige
round-neck tee shirt with a black ring around the neck, red
and white checked boxer shorts, dark yachting boots and fingerless

There are no reports of a “Mayday” for
a man overboard, and it is estimated that the body had been
in the water no more than 48 hours.
At about 11.15am, police
were informed that the man’s
body had been found by a fishing vessel 10 miles south of
Knap Tower.
The Bembridge lifeboat was launched from
the Isle of Wight, and a Hampshire Marine Unit launch was
deployed.
The body was recovered and brought to Portsmouth.
The body
is now at the Haslar Hospital mortuary, where a post mortem
will be carried out on Wednesday, August 23.
