Drivers are being given advance notice of an abnormal load
movement carrying yacht moulds, from Ashmanhaugh in Norfolk to Saxon
Wharf in Southampton.
The yacht mould, 98 feet long, 20 feet wide and 16 feet high and
with a laden vehicle weight of 43 tonnes, is being moved over two
days to minimise the impact on other road users.
It will leave Rectory Road, Ashmanhaugh in Norfolk at 7.30pm on
Sunday 11 December and arrive in Essex at around 11pm. It will leave
Essex at midnight and be travelling on the M25 until 01.00am.
Between 01.00am and 02.00am, it will be travelling on the M3 and
then the M27, arriving at Junction 8 of the M27 near Southampton
after 3am.
The route undertaken for this journey on 11 and 12 December will
be self-escorting.
The load will load Rectory Road, Ashmanhaugh in Norfolk and use
the A1151 to A149, to B1152, to A1064, A47 (Norwich Southern bypass),
A140, A14, A12, M25 Jtn 28 anticlockwise the M25 Junction with the
M3, taking the M3 southbound. The truck carrying the abnormal load
will be met by the police where it meets the M27 at Junction 8.
It will then be escorted along the A3024, onto Princes Street, William
Street, Lower York Street and to Saxon Wharf. It is planned to leave
the Highways Agency network by 4am on Monday 12 December 2005. |
