A325 to Allisons Road, follow signs for ski centre - cemetery is opposite ski centre.
This cemetery contains the bones of some of Britain's military heroes from Victorian times to the present time. Samuel Franklin Cody is also buried there. Meet at the chapel.

The Aldershot Observatory

A circular brick observatory, built in 1891 and presented to the army in 1906. It holds a 9 inch refractory telescope on a pillar mounting. Meet outside observatory.

Duke of Wellington Statue
Claycart Road Follow signs from A325
This huge statue of the man who defeated Napoleon first stood at Hyde Park Corner, but was later moved to Aldershot. Discover its origins, history and recent restoration. Meet at car park opposite statue.

This huge 19th century military hospital, designed on the advice from Florence Nightingale, is now only partly used. Its clock tower is now a listed structure. NB exterior only. Meet at security gate of the hospital.

Shedfield Old Tower

Just off the B2177 between Wickham and Bishop's Waltham, behind St John the Baptist Church.
The 175 year tower is all that remains of the original chapel of Ease at Shedfield. It is usually only open to groups by appointment. The ground floor houses an exhibition area whilst on the first floor visitors can see an owl roost amongst the oak timbers. Roof access on fine days. Upper floors accessible via a narrow spiral staircase.

The USS Chesapeake was captured in 1813 by HMS Shannon. Sold for scrap, her pine timbers were incorporated in the new water mill. An exhibition entitled 'Wickham and Nelson's Navy'charts the naval careers of two of Nelson's Admirals and one Captain who are buried in Wickham Churchyard.

This famous wall map preserved and set for H-Hour on D-Day 6th June 1944 is where General Eisenhower made his historic decision to proceed with the Normandy Landings.

Pre-booked guided tours of the court building, Jury Room and holding cells. Tours begin in the court cells and end 45 mins later at the Wedding Gates that divide the Great Hall and the Law Courts. Three performances of the Summoning of Everyman, a medieval morality play, will take place on the cobbles between the Law Courts and the Great Hall, performed by local actors and members of staff.

The hospital was founded in 1132 for the purpose of providing alms for "13 poor brothers" and needy travellers. Today, visitors are still given the Wayfarers Dole - a smaller beaker of beer and a morsel of bread - should they request it. This year, additional access will be given to the Brothers' Library and the Trustees' Room, with Georgian pannelling and a stained glass window.
