Tuesday 16 September The Love Punch  (12A)

Richard (Pierce Brosnan) and Kate (Emma Thompson) are a divorced couple, who have been living separate and lonely existences.

On his way to begin his final week at work before retirement, Richard is shocked to discover that his company was liquidated by its new Paris-based owner Lexon.

With their pensions lost in the liquidation, Richard persuades Kate to go with him to Paris to confront Lexon’s slimy CEO Vincent Krugar (Laurent Lafitte).

Finding Krugar unrepentant, the couple decide to crash his upcoming wedding in Cannes and steal his fiancée’s $10 million diamond.

Recruiting their friends Jerry (Timothy Spall) and Penelope (Celia Imrie), Richard and Kate head off on a heist adventure, which may reignite the flame they had for each other.

“The script is absurd, silly and at times downright ridiculous, but what it has at its core is four awesome actors having a lot of fun – and taking you along for the ride. They don’t take it too seriously, so you can’t either, but that’s not to say they don’t throw their collective weight at it – they do. They are wonderful.”  Screenjabber.com

Tuesday 21 October Jersey Boys  (15)

From director Clint Eastwood comes the big-screen version of the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys.  The film tells the story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic rock group The Four Seasons.

The story of their trials and triumphs are accompanied by the songs that influenced a generation, including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Dawn,” “Rag Doll,” “Bye Bye Baby,” “Who Loves You,” and many more. These classic hits are now being embraced by a new generation of fans through the stage musical, which has been running on Broadway for more than eight years and has also enjoyed successful tours around the globe.

John Lloyd Young reprises his Tony Award-winning portrayal of the legendary lead singer of The Four Seasons, Frankie Valli. Erich Bergen plays Bob Gaudio, who wrote or co-wrote all of the group’s biggest hits. Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza play, respectively, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito, two original members of The Four Seasons. Christopher Walken stars as mobster Gyp DeCarlo.

"Jersey Boys is entertainingly told, yet is a more traditional film than are many Eastwood-directed works. Most outstanding is the acting, especially John Lloyd Young, who won a Tony for originating the Frankie Valli role on Broadway." Austin Chronicle

Tuesday 18 November Belle  (12A)

Belle is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral in late 18th century England.

Raised alongside her half-cousin Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), Belle's lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the colour of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the life of her social circle.

Grown into a cultured and principled young woman, Belle falls in love with John Davinier, an idealistic young legal apprentice (Sam Reid).

Davinier, Lord Mansfield and Dido want to use the law to change the world and put an end to slavery. Miranda Richardson and Penelope Wilton also feature in a splendid cast

Tuesday 16 December Chef  (15)

When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman), he is left to figure out what's next.

Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son to launch a food truck.

Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen -- and zest for life and love.

“Food, glorious food, and music, wonderful Latino music, fill this crowd pleasing comedy which avoids the traps of fake sentimentality for the grounded joys of genuine heart.”  Urban Cinefile

“Favreau has been blessed with a terrific supporting cast, all of whom hit their sweet spots here. In addition to expert turns by Hoffman, Downey Jr., Leguizamo and an especially appealing Vergara, Bobby Cannavale and Scarlett Johansson are tops as Carl's old restaurant co-workers, while Amy Sedaris is a riot as a persistent publicist. Kudos as well to young Anthony, who's adorable, natural and winning; he and Favreau share some wonderful father-son bonding moments.”  Los Angeles Times
