The big change of the moment is the development of the old Dreamland site. Dreamland made electric blankets but moved away some years ago.
Now the site is being developed to provide a mixture of town houses and apartments with a small commercial section (restaurants and shops).
This picture is provided by Wilcon, one of the developers.
Wilcon would like to point out that the development layout may be subject to variation.
The development is centre bottom.

A larger annotated view is also available. Why not compare this view with the Hythe of 1932.

The next view was added in March 2002 – courtesy of Redrow Ltd. The development is now called Lighterman Quay and shows that the development is largely complete.
The waterfront area, consisting of residential, shops, offices and restaurants remains unfinished. Note the long building in the bottom right – once Hythe Station now the Waterside Heritage Centre.
