The "new" Hythe & Dibden Community Centre in Brinton Lane was formally opened on Saturday 8th February 2004 following eight months of building works.
The Community Association's most senior member, Christine Foley, performed the opening ceremony for invited guests. Mrs Foley was 100 in March and has been a member since the Association was first set up.
The new building was then open for everyone to look round, during which time various local groups who use the community centre manned displays and were on hand to explain what they do.
